Which system should you build first?
List the processes causing your business the most trouble, score each one in about five minutes, and see which one to build first. Free.
Why it matters
Most businesses have a list of things they could fix with better systems. Quoting, job costing, site inspections, onboarding, reporting. Pick the wrong one first and you get something that works but doesn’t matter. Pick the right one and it pays for itself, proves the case and makes every build after it easier.
The problem is that the loudest problem isn’t always the right place to start. This assessment helps you tell the difference.
How it works
- Name your top five problem areas. The processes or parts of the business causing you the most trouble. Add more if you have them.
- Score each one. Ten questions per process, about five minutes. Answer for how it runs today.
- See them ranked. The one to build first comes out on top, with the gap holding each one back.
What you get
- A ranked list of your problem areas, with a score out of 20 and a clear verdict for each: build this first, strong candidate with gaps, or not first.
- The detail behind every score. A chart across five dimensions, your answers, and the one thing to fix first.
- The pattern across your business. When the same gap shows up in every process, such as no owner with time or no leadership backing, that’s about the business, not one process. You’ll see it.
- A free Redgum account. Come back any time, redo an assessment as things change, and add processes. More assessments are added to your account as they open, building a fuller picture of where new capability would pay off.
What each process is scored on
- Pain and frequency. How often it runs and what it costs when it goes wrong.
- People affected. How many people touch it, and whether customers feel it.
- Process clarity. Whether the steps can be written down and are run the same way each time.
- Build readiness. Where the information lives and whether someone can own a first version.
- Leadership alignment. Whether leadership wants it fixed and there’s budget to back it.
